Smokey Head White Bluff nature reserve in the Bruce Peninsula

A geological wonder on the Niagara Escarpment, the Bruce Peninsula dates back 450 million years, a place where dramatic waves cut cliffs beside fresh clear blue water. Noted for its endless hiking & dramatic scenery, the Bruce trail offers it all from casual hiking to aggressive climbing for the enthusiast.

Located between Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, the Bruce Peninsula is one of Ontario's most spectacular regions. From the protected waters of Hope Bay to the rugged trails leading to Devils monument in Dyers Bay, the Central Bruce Peninsula has much to offer.

In the spring, rare orchids, trilliums and other flora bloom in abundance, while birds rest before their migration north.

Early summer finds fisherman in the deep waters of Georgian Bay. Prize winning salmon and rainbow trout can be fished 100 meters off shore, giving you a beautiful view of the Niagara Escarpment.

Travelers around the globe visit the Bruce in the summer to hike the famous Bruce Trail. Take the day and hike to Gun Point in Lion's Head, or the shorter trip to Devil's Monument in Dyer's Bay, and witness the Escarpment in all its rugged beauty.

Fall brings a flourish of colour as the trees prepare for winter. It is here that you can witness the northern lights dancing in the sky, as the Bruce is - due to its unique geography - not affected by light pollution.

When the fall changes to winter, snowmobile's coming to the Bruce can enjoy winding scenic trails. Tranquil forests create a perfect backdrop for snow shoeing and cross-country skiing.
